The Agricultural Trade Promotion Center (ATPC), established in November 2003, is an agency under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. Its major functions include:
· Conducting foreign trade negotiations, including bilateral and multilateral agricultural negotiations.
· Engaging in settling agricultural trade disputes and reviewing country-specific trade policies.
· Providing monitoring and early warning of agricultural security in China and participating in agriculture-related trade remedy programs.
· Conducting research into domestic and international agriculture and agricultural trade policies, collecting and analyzing agricultural trade information.
· Promoting agricultural trade by organizing trade promotion activities such as agricultural trade exhibitions and conventions at home and abroad, as well as managing this sector.
· Managing the day-to-day operations of the Specialized Sub-council of Agriculture of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Agricultural Chamber of Commerce of the Chamber of International Commerce (CCOIC).
